Swallow Barn at Valley Farm in Holton, Suffolk is an eco-friendly, single storey, two bedroom cottage to accommodate four guests, plus a baby. It is called Swallow Barn because of the many swallows that used to return to nest in the rafters each summer.
The cottage has a 4 star grading from the AA.
The property is furnished and decorated to a high standard, with two bedrooms, a double and a twin. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with shower, one of which has been specially equipped for use by disabled guests. A large sitting/dining room and a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, microwave and washing machine. There is a Freesat television with a dvd together with a radio/cd player.
Swallow Barn has a lovely south facing terrace with table, chairs and barbecue and there is an acre field suitable for ball games. The owners’ private indoor heated swimming pool is available to guests by individual arrangement at a small extra charge and there is parking for two cars.
Swallow Barn at Valley Farm in Suffolk is ideally located only a short drive from Southwold and just outside the small market town of Halesworth. Valley Farm, in the village of Holton, is set in two and half acres of lovely Suffolk countryside with a footpath leading across the fields to the small market town of Halesworth with a variety of local shops, pubs and restaurants. The farm is surrounded by farmland and orchards. With the seaside town of Southwold just a few miles away and the Heritage Coast with its wild heathland and nature reserves within a short drive.
Local attractions include the RSPB sanctuary at Minsmere. Norwich and Ipswich are both easily accessible on a day trip. Halesworth has its own arts centre, The Cut, created out of an old maltings in the town centre and offers a really varied programme to suit all tastes. Snape Maltings and Aldeburgh are both a short drive away where you can enjoy concerts and festivals that attract internationally acclaimed performers. Henham Park is a short drive away, known nationally for the 'Latitude' Festival.
Swallow Barn makes an ideal base for exploring this lovely county, a car being essential for full exploration of the area.
